How We Got Started
Over the years there have been many prophetic words about healing over the Central Coast of California. We knew God’s heart was to release a healing fountain here.
When the Healing Rooms of Spokane, Washington began giving reports through the Internet, we felt prompted to look into that. Rick and Lori went up to Spokane to see what the Lord was doing up there. We stayed four days and during that time we met with Cal Pierce, the Director of the Spokane Rooms. Cal shared his vision with us and we were invited to observe in the healing rooms. Before we left Spokane their team prayed a prayer of impartation on us. We left there with a vision of Healing Rooms starting on the Central Coast.
We came back home and felt that we were to begin training. After that the Lord told us to wait and birth this in prayer. We took seven weeks and had prayer going on for six days a week either morning or evening on those days. During that time the Lord gave us seven ingredients to have a healing ministry established here. They are as follows:
1. We need to believe with all our hearts souls and minds that Jesus still heals today. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
2. We must become desperate for the presence of the Lord.
3. We must be broken.
4. We must walk in humility, 1 Peter 5:5close1 Peter 5:5
5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (ESV)
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
5. We must increase our prayer life, which includes praying in the spirit and practicing the presence of God.
6. We must believe in unity, this is for the whole church all denominations.
7. This must be a ministry of love. 1 Cor. 16:14close1 Corinthians 16:14
14 Let all that you do be done in love. (ESV)

When we began in August of 2000, we had a team of twelve people. We began praying two days a week. After one year we opened four days a week. We now have many team members from several churches on the Central Coast. We love how the Lord has put together a team from many different Christian churches. As it says in Psalm 133closePsalm 133

where there is unity the Lord commands the blessing.
The Lord has shown His favor in many ways, we have been interviewed by many different magazines and newspapers. We have been on several radio shows in the USA as well as internationally. Rick and Lori Taylor have been guests on many different TV shows, including TBN’s Praise the Lord Show, Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural, The Harvest Show, GLC and others, sharing on what the Lord is doing through the Santa Maria Healing Rooms.
The first night we were open the presence of the Lord was strong and filled the room with a fragrance like crushed roses. His presence and the fragrance still comes today as we pray.
